Hello my darling bees, It’s been a hot minute hasn’t I know, but the kitchen is coming on nicely (yes, it’s taken sometime, but we are doing it ourselves - i keep saying that, like it’s a good thing!!). Over the last few weeks I've been allowed back into my kitchen, and I’ve spent the time testing bakes and trying out fun ideas, and this one is a doozy! I just bursts in your mouth with the first bite.

Hello my darlings bees. Here is my go to quick and easy chocolate cake recipe, courtesy of my dear Nana L'queur; fit for anyone to make. Even my own mother can do it, and she couldn't cook her books properly.
Hello my darlings bees! Happy Tuesday! As I am slowly getting back into the baking groove, I wanted to try a fun take on the marvelous Macrons. Also - as I am a team player - I wanted to experiment as I will be judging The Cake Initiative’s baking competition. Please go and check them out. They are a wonderful UK charity that helps provide birthday cakes for kids who shouldn’t have to miss out on celebrating their birthday in style.

I know a lot of my fellow bakers have some phobia when it comes to theses sneaky little devils. I am not afraid to say I was one of them. So here’s my take on these delightfully dainty - yet terrifying to make - macrons. This is a how to guide in how to make these dainty french macrons. Hello my darlings bees! I know, I know… what have I been doing, you may be asking? Well truth be told with my kitchen still having her face lift (yes still… you can’t rush perfection). Quality over quantity, my bees, remember that!
We are doing 80% of it ourselves, and sadly this lady of the house has no people to help her. I may add a link here for when she is finally all done, for those that would like to check it out. I’m also the proud patron of The Cake Initiative - a charity for parents who can’t afford birthday cakes for their kids. Please check them out! Now… on to my latest bake: I wanted to make a brownie, but with some pizazz, of course. As I am a one of the judges for Cake Initiative’s upcoming competition, I thought it was only right do my own take on the classic Brownies. I used my Nana L’queur Brownie, recipe but with a little bit of moi. |
